Hi. I’m Amanda. The bio I use on other sites says something like: “Amanda is an astrologer, soul worker and paradigm buster based in Seattle. Her adventures in these forms of ‘practical woo’ are geared towards helping people to heal themselves and the world. She is an anarchistic(ally) non-monogamous gypsy witchy type who prefers to avoid labels but admits to being an introvert.” That’s all well and good, and fairly accurate even. But why have a web site dedicated to my writing?
Well, I like writing. And I’ve been writing for a public audience since I was about 18, which is apparently almost 20 years ago. I took a little break recently, and realized that I like sharing for many reasons. One is that it keeps me accountable to the craft of writing. Another is that I love the poetry of language, and the moments when I receive feedback from a kindred soul who is resonating with my words. Connection is everything.
Now that it seems like we’re all becoming increasingly untethered in time, as the world shifts radically from day to day (and sociopathic narcissists seem to be sliding their slimy asses into power at alarming rates) I wanted a forum in which I could continue to share even as I focus on actual pen-and-paper writing in my daily life. There are processes I keep to myself and there are some that I do not.
I try to keep the writing I put here as timely as possible, but some of it is from the past. I’m always open to conversations about the ideas you see here as well as suggestions for future topics. Feedback can be great, too, if proposed in a constructive manner.
